Fluffy Mail!

Guess who's diapers came in the mail today!?

Please excuse the poor quality of the picture, I had to use my cell phone. But how cute are these!? The two on the right have to be the cutest and softest. They are Kawaii Baby signature Minkys. I love them!

I just ordered 12 cloth-eez newborn prefolds and 2 more Thirsties covers. Hopefully that should be enough for my newborn stash. I am hoping that the pockets that are pictured above will fit Baby as well. I hope this will be enough. I don't mind washing everyday.

How many cloth diapers did you use a day for your newborn?

  1. We had 16 prefolds, 11 KL0 (my favorite!), 4 covers, 3 Kawaii Pure&Natural (were too big), and 15 small BG 3.0 - but we only used 6, because the others were used and I didn't want to repair the velcro/elastic.

We used the KL0 only at the beginning (because of the umbilical scoop), and did laundry every day.

I also replied to you over on my blog. ;)

    1. I will probably need to get more prefolds and KL0. Bleh. I just hate spending money on newborn diapers that won't last until potty training!

    2. The prefolds can continue to be used as burp cloths or as inserts for pockets ;)
As for KL0, my Evan is still fitting them on a larger setting at almost 4 months, over 13 lbs. Granted, he's not exactly a chubby baby, they are well worth it. Especially if you have more babies!

Otherwise, they do retain resale value. :) Check Spots for some used ones! I got most of my newborn diapers used since they are used for such a short time. http://hyenacart.com/stores/Spots_corner/

  2. When is your baby due? We are having baby #2 in the end of June. We only have one newborn diaper so far, but are probably going to get Lil Joey's and some Swaddlebee's newborns. John wants AIO's, so that's what I will get.

Following you by email from Super STalker Sunday hop - if you want to follow back, I'm hoping to have some newborn giveaways after baby is born, not sure if that would help you out or not, but I have a few giveaways up right now. http://www.housesbyshannon.blogspot.com (Mommy of One and Counting)

    1. My baby is due August 30th!

I am hesitant about getting AIO's because I hear they take FOREVER to dry. But I still might invest in some to make diaper changing when out and about more convenient. I just really love the set up of pocket diapers.

I will definitely follow back. And seeing as how your baby will be here a couple months before mine, a newborn diaper giveaway would be wonderful!

  3. When he was a newborn we went through the diapers quickly! The biggest issue was that he soiled the covers often, so we were rarely able to reuse them. We had 12 covers and probably went trough 6 covers a day in 10 diapers a day. My opinion, don't bother on the AIO. Ours have the option to stuff, making them like and AIO, and we never use that option. AI2 are just to easy, even for the grandparents. We have no need for AIO.

    1. I just wish there was an actual store close by that sold cloth diapers. I am worried about buying too many newborn diapers because I don't want to waste money, but I am also worried about not having enough diapers, and having to order them online and wait. So stressful! Lol.

I just bought a newborn sized BumGenius, no clue if that will actually fit. And 12 newborn prefolds. I might buy 12 more newborn prefolds to be safe!
