After dating for 3 years, Jimmy finally proposed. He did a pretty good job doing it too. It was really sweet. We went back home for the holidays (we are from the same town but now live about 3 hours away) and everything was normal. I went to visit my grandma and he went to his house to see his parents for a while, we were going to meet up later.
About an hour or so later, I drove to his house which was about 5 mins away and he was acting all weird. He said we were going to go get some pop from a vending machine in town, (I'm from a tiny town of 150 people where everything closes at 8 pm) so we got in the car and drove toward the vending machines, but passed them. The next thing I knew we were at the ball park where Jimmy and I had our first kiss all those years ago. He told me to close my eyes as he walked me out to the field. When I opened them I saw this...
It was seriously the sweetest thing ever. It took my breath away. And as I looked down, he was on one knee with the beautiful ring that was once my Great Grandmother's, and he asked me to marry him. The funny thing about this whole proposal? Everyone, and I mean everyone was in on it but me! Jimmy had to get permission from the city to put up the lights, so naturally everyone in town knew about it as well as my whole family. The ring is so unique and beautiful.
Five days later and guess what? We found out I was pregnant! Needless to say, it was definitely the best Christmas I have ever had.
And 9 months later, we had this beautiful little girl.
She brings so much joy into our lives. It is unbelievable. Every day with Miss Charlotte is a great day. We couldn't be happier.
